Raman, infrared and near-infrared spectroscopic characterization of the herderite-hydroxylherderite mineral series.
Natural single-crystal specimens of the herderite-hydroxylherderite series from Brazil, with general formula CaBePO4(F,OH), were investigated by electron microprobe, Raman, infrared and near-infrared spectroscopies. The minerals occur as secondary products in granitic pegmatites. Herderite and hydroxylherderite minerals show extensive solid solution formation. The Raman spectra of hydroxylherde...
متن کاملStructural Analysis of Hirudin Using FT-IR and FT-Raman Spectroscopic Techniques
FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of hirudin have been recorded from the native solid hirudin. The conformation of the molecule has been discussed on the basis of IR and Raman data. It has been concluded that hirudin molecule has a mixed a-helix and random coil conformation.
متن کاملRaman Spectroscopic Characterization of Wood and Pulp Fibers, Chapter 2
This chapter reviews applications of Raman spectroscopy in the field of wood and pulp fibers. Most of the literature examined was published between 1998 and 2006. In addi tion to introduction, this chapter contains sections on wood and components, mechanical pulp, chemical pulp, modified/treated wood, cellulose I crystallinity of wood fibers, and the “self-absorption” phenomenon in near-infrar...
متن کاملft-raman spectroscopic characterization of enamel surfaces irradiated with er:yag and nd:yag lasers
background and aims: although dental caries is a preventable disease, it is still common and remains a public health problem. one of the potentially effective preventive measures is laser irradiation. raman spectroscopy is a powerful technique for studying the microcrystalline structure of dental enamel. the study assessed the chemical alterations occurring in enamel irradiated with er:yag or n...
متن کاملFT-Raman Spectroscopic Studies of Nd/YAG Laser Irradiated Human Dental Enamel
FTR-Raman Spectra of human dental enamel, both laser-irradiated and untreated, are reported. Spectra are compared with hydroxyapatite. It is evident that unlike the CO2 laser, the Nd/YAG laser does not induce any chemical change in dental enamel.
